Real Food Daily: WeHo CA.

or simply "The Caesar Wrap" - that was my meal of choice today at RFD. After my long trek from Wilshire to La Cienega Blvd ( where RFD is located). The Caesar wrap is pretty self explanatory I guess.. It comes with romaine lettuce, dressing, and blackened tempeh wrapped in a spinach tortilla. I got a side of potato salad with mine and some BBQ sauce because everything taste better with RFD BBQ sauce on it:) So all in all this was a nice meal. Great for a hot day because it comes cold.. Delicious like everything at RFD:)

Cafe Muse: WeHo CA.

Today I went to a new little cafe. Cafe Muse on Santa Monica BLVD. A bit off the beaten path, so you wouldn't know this place existed unless you look it up online or you work down there. It's on Theater Row.. close to a lot of studios, production companies. . The place is pretty much a corner hole in the wall which doesn't look to appealing from outside. The food was really delicious though.. the staff was not overly friendly, kind of "whatever" about customers if you will.. The food made up for it though. I ordered an no sugar Arnold Palmer to drink which was really refreshing and good- more tart than a normal sugar A.P. really good. Then I got the BBQ "Chicken" wrap in a whole wheat tortilla with red onion, fresh tomatoes, and greens with ranch dressing - this wrap was great came out fresh and hot a light refreshing meal for my side I got veggie chili which was also really good and hot- since it was a little chilly today.. This place has great food but I don't know that I would travel so far out when there are great places closer by ( Manis, Real Food Daily, Veggie Grill)... But it was a good meal for today!

Manis: WeHo CA.

Today was a great day. I didn't make it to church because I don't have a car but soon I will ha. Today I went to The Grove to do a little shopping which was great really busy but fun, also hit the farmers market.. I love Farmers Markets so I really enjoyed my day. :) I also tried a new spot for lunch which i'll be going back to because the food was amazing! Mani's Bakery on Fairfax is a great healthy restaurant with breakfast served all day and lunch , and delicious breads and pastries. They offer the biggest vegan dessert menu ( fruit sweetened) I have ever seen.. from pies, to cookies, cupcakes, cakes, truffles, and turnovers. So many choices for dessert but also so many choices for the main meal. They aren't entirely vegan so it's a great place to meet friends who aren't vegan, but still enjoy having a healthy meal:) After a while of debating what I was going to eat for lunch I ended up having " the classic" which I had with Seitan and tempeh bacon with a tangy sauce, lettuce, tomato, I also added pickles and onions.. they have a lot of sides to choose from but I ended up getting a small caesar salad with mind. There were a few bread choices to choose from but I got the Whole Wheat bread- it came lightly toasted and this was a delicious sandwich one of the best. The salad went with it and all around it was delicious. So after that I had to decide what I was going to try for dessert they had a BOGO ( buy one get one) on the fruit sweetened Vegan cookies so I got a chocolate chip chocolate dipped cookie and a chocolate chip cookie since it was BOGO to have for later. I also tried the Peanut Butter Cupcake. These desserts were amazing. Some of the best I've tasted in my vegan tastings:) I would definitely recommend trying this place if you get the chance, just a cute casual place in WeHo but the food will take your breathe away:)

The Veggie Grill: WeHo CA.

The Veggie grill was my spot for lunch today.. right next door to my apartment which is convenient :) Tried something new there the Chipotle BBQ Sandwich which was shredded veggie- steak marinated in tangy BBQ sauce, with chipotle ranch, caramelized onions, with lettuce and tomato . along with the steamed kale with a tahini dressing. Both amazing a little messy to eat but worth getting extra napkins! I love this place everything I've tasted is delicious:) I got a vegan gluten free brownie next door at Pizza Fusion ( which has organic pizza/salad not all vegan but they have vegan options) { PizzaFusion.com} This brownie was good very light and crisp on the top.. although I would go for a RFD cookie over it anytime:)!!

Today I took LA's version of a subway downtown to Flower Street. I call it a version because I love LA but definitely a place for a car, not the best public transportation I had to wait 10 minutes for a train, and the stations were to clean for a "subway station" to most people that prob. sounds strange but being used ( and spoiled) by the NYC subways.. I assume them all to be dirty and fast:) So sitting there waiting for the train part of me missed those subways in NYC and New York in general. It's a special city like no where else in the world, and today I miss it. LA is great ( better when I get my car) but part of me is still lingering in Manhattan. The familiar, the places, the people, the city. New York, I miss you.

Real Food Daily: WeHo CA.

We went to lunch at Real Food Daily my vegan favorite, I'll get to food reviewing in a minute but first let me say they seated us next to Sarah Wright ( Made of Honor, 7th Heaven) - we started chatting with her and she is so nice and the sweetest Celebrity I've met. She even gave me her email so she could help out with the film stuff. Such a sweet and kind hearted person.
Now to the food.. We started off with the Wabi Sabi Rolls .. Cabbage, cucumber, carrot, mint, rice noodles, in rice paper with wasabi dressing. absolutely yummy and so light! Then we went mexican and got the El Bandito Rojo wheat and gluten free corn enchiladas, seasoned tempeh, salsa roja, spanish rice, black beans, pico de gallo, tofu sour cream, and guac.. This was delicious the salsa roja was so good topped off a perfect pair of enchiladas! We also split the Caesar Salad with blackened tempeh. also extremely good. the portions are huge and yummy perfect for splitting! thats all for now . check it out! Realfood.com

The Veggie Grill: WeHo CA.

Today we ate at "The Veggie Grill" right next door to my apartment a 2 minute walk. which is perfect:) This place is amazing! Kelly Osbourne even enjoys a meal here from time to time! Today we started off with the Chill Out Wings , strips of chillin "chickin" with a tangy BBQ sauce.. These were amazing you would think they were chicken fingers and the BBQ sauce could be served as a beverage so good! Then we split the Chop- Chop Chef salad, chopped romaine, tempeh, veggie steak, chillin chickin, green onion, roasted corn salsa with a chipotle ranch dressing. This salad was one of the best salads I've had.. Full of protein and the ranch dressing just made it so much more delicious! We also split the Bayou Chickin sandwich- being from New Orleans it caught my eye and I'm glad it did! Lightly blackened "chickin" with cajun spices, lettuce, tomato, red onion, avocado, and spicy vegan mayo on a whole wheat bun with red cabbage coleslaw on the side. This sandwich was heaven in my mouth. Perfectly blackened "meat" and the cajun spice was just amazing.. put me back in New Orleans for a minute. This is a place you can bring friends who aren't vegan.. they wouldn't know the difference . trust me! I will be a frequent customer here so close to my apartment great prices. nothing over $10 and big enough to share! Overall pure deliciousness !

Real Food Daily: WeHo CA.

So a food review: Today for lunch I went back to pretty much my favorite restaurant ever here in LA. Real Food Daily.. The daily part describes it best.. I could eat this everyday the menu is huge, but don't worry I'll try it all and give a review:D . Today we ordered the BLT Tartine as an appetizer which is little crisp pieces of bread with basically an open face tempeh blt, vegan mayo, avocado, tomato, and lettuce. This was delicious the bread was crisp, and the tempeh cooked to perfection. Then we went mexican and split the Tac'O Town tacos filled with seitan, onions, peppers, pico de gallo, tofu sour cream, rice and black beans. these were absolutely the best mexican tacos I have ever eaten! Messy.. yes.. but so worth it. just get extra napkins! We also got the Mexicali Salad- figure we'd stick to the mexican theme here.. a salad filled with pinto beans, avocado, corn, seasonal vegetables, romaine lettuce, and a cilantro-lime dressing. A great salad very filling and a tangy dressing. super super good. Then of course we got a couple of those yummy cookies to go... OH and that acai tea that i adore.. MHM. love it here!
